Supporting the Transition to High School
If you think back to your own move from primary to high school, you’ll probably remember that it was quite a shock. All of a sudden, classes are more formal, there’s more homework, and there’s a bigger focus on taking responsibility for your own learning. This last point is something that Year 7 students often struggle with. You simply don’t get the same level of individual attention you did in primary school, so learning how to cope with Year 7 is a skill in itself.
Our high school tutors in Bondi, Earlwood, Maroubra and Mascot are here to help guide your child through what is a difficult year for many. Some students also find they haven’t left primary school with the same knowledge as their peers, and this can be disheartening. It’s our goal to help students catch up quickly so they can move forward confidently with the rest of their class.
NAPLAN Testing
Year 7 is another NAPLAN testing year, where students participate in a range of literacy and numeracy tests to gauge where they’re at. These tests can be difficult for kids if they feel like they’re already behind, so we’re here to help them through.
Identifying and filling knowledge gaps helps them understand some of the more basic English and maths concepts they may have missed. With expert Year 8 tutors in Sydney, they’ll be ready for NAPLAN in no time.
High School Tutoring to Boost Confidence
So much of learning is about confidence. Children who are afraid to give the wrong answer sometimes don’t try at all. We provide a confidence-boosting environment where mistakes are encouraged in the name of learning. While it sounds strange, making mistakes is one of the most important experiences when it comes to developing problem-solving skills. We’ll celebrate achievements with your child, and give them back a love of learning.
