Why Taking Care of Yourself Is Important

It's so easy to get lost in the exam stress, where your days lack sunlight and you're perpetually stuck in the same seat of the library. I myself treated my study days like that, and I can personally attest that this is an awful idea.
Studying is important, especially before exams. However, it is incredibly important to remember that none of the study will be effective if you choose to neglect yourself. The best way to achieve the results that you want without losing your mind is by taking guiltless breaks. Here are some ways that you can keep yourself sane during exam season while achieving high results:
1. Make sure to eat properly! This sounds incredibly trivial, however it's surprising how easily you can forget to eat proper, fulfilling meals while you are in the peak of study stress. I personally made sure that, after every two hours of studying, I took a half an hour eating break.
2. Make sure to stay hydrated! This one may be even easier to neglect, but I've truly found that just keeping a waterbottle on my desk next to my study material has helped me to stay hydrated. Without even thinking about it, I have found myself taking sips of water while I think or process information.
3. Make sure to sleep enough! Unfortunately, staying up until 2am to study will not only make you tired, but it will impair your ability to study effectively. During exam season, I set myself up on a rigid sleeping schedule to ensure that I stay active in my learning and in my day to day life.
If you make sure to take care of yourself, your learning will sort itself out and you will feel great for your exams! Good luck, you'll smash your exams!
