Why Reading is so Important

Everyone talks about the importance of reading and I am not here to debunk that, reading is an extremely important skill that must be developed and continued for much longer than most do. Reading is the building blocks of learning which is why everyone learns it at the youngest possible age, it allows us to understand the world and learn new things independently so imagine if you could not read. Reading and comprehension skills is a pivotal building block of everyones education but it also teaches us lessons and important aspects of the world without forcing everyone to individually experience them. For example; war a very horrible, horrific experience for anyone to go through and no one should have to go through it however the people who have and have written about their experiences allows us, people who have never experiences war, to understand these horrors and be able to comprehend the horrendous impact it has had. These memoirs and novels allow us to not only formulate individual opinions about important themes but also learn from others errors and potentially prevent the same outcomes happening to us. Reading allows us to relate to others, learn from others and even grow from others experiences.

Reading doesn't need to be so serious, reading can also be just for enjoyment and amusement. It allows you to remain creative and maintain your imagination even as you grow up. Reading is fantastic for fostering imagination in all ages and should be frequently utilised to maintain creativity. These skills are important and can have extremely transferable properties into real world situations. Many individuals stop reading after reading and analysing high school mandatory books which is truely a disservice to yourself. Reading allows for everyone to comprehend and decipher new information with confidence and allows you to creatively solve and approach problems.
