What Should I Do In The Holidays?

We all know the feeling leading up into the holidays - excitement for all the liberation, but maybe some stress when you know that exams are right around the corner. But, don’t stress! With the right planning, you can walk into your exams well prepared and well rested from a fantastic holiday!

The best advice I received from my extension 2 English teacher was to split up each day of my holiday into a productive and a fun half.

Each day I started my day at 9am and studied for three hours until 12 pm with a half an hour break in the middle.

This way, you maintain a productive holiday while also giving yourself a well deserved break!

Another important way to ensure that you're staying productive in the holidays is to plan out all of your studying at the beginning of the holidays and map out each day. This way, you return back to school unstressed and on top of all of your learning!

However, this is easier said than done! I have told myself that I will follow my schedule many times before and abandoned it after one day. The best way that I have found that I can keep myself accountable is by setting reminders on my phone ahead of times of my tasks for the day. Each morning, I get a notification which tells me what work I have to do each day, and I set out to do it and stay on top of my work in approachable pieces!

Don't stress if the holidays seem to short to fit in studying and fun time, by planning out your time and only committing the first half of your day to your studies, you'll finally manage to perfect that 'work-life' balance you've always wanted to! Happy holidays :)
