Now that we're coming to the sharp end of the year for yr 12s, we're entering a weird point in time where trials are over but HSC still feels like a little while away. Our students get to enjoy graduation festivities, formals and celebrate their end of school journey, and it's so important for them to do so without being tied to their desk. However, this can cause some concern or stress to some students who aren't sure how to balance both their study and celebrating the end of semester without having quite done all of their exams. Something that can help students with this is to encourage them to schedule in their study time for that week differently to how they would usually do this. For example, rather than studying for 3 afternoons in a row, or completing 2 subjects in one day, bring it down to 1 or 2 afternoons, shorter sessions or even just 1 subject. This allows the student to still feel productive and not lose their progress, whilst still allowing them to form memories and enjoy their final chapter of school as much as possible. It's a point in time where recognition is given to all of their hard work over the years, not just during the HSC. This is also important as it comes before they complete their final exams, serving as an acknowledgement for the amount of effort and commitment they have made towards their studies and to their school before considering the marks themselves. Spending time with their friends and teachers who have provided this support is also such an important break, and can even provide them with motivation to push on through the next few weeks and into their HSC exam period. Overall, it's so helpful and important for our year 12s to balance their study and enjoy their graduation and final days of school.
