School Holiday's Doesn't Mean Stopping

School holidays are finally here.

No alarms. No rushing to school. No homework due the next morning. Just a chance to sleep in, relax, see friends and do things you actually enjoy and honestly, you deserve that break.

But taking a break doesn't mean you have to completely switch off from learning. You don't need to spend your entire holiday sitting at a desk doing hours of schoolwork. In fact, you probably shouldn't. Your brain needs time to rest too.

But even doing a little bit here and there can make a bigger difference than you think.

Read a few pages of a book. Go over some old notes. Do a couple of Maths questions. Practice your spelling. Watch a video about something you're interested in. Spend 30 minutes going over a topic you found difficult last term.

It doesn't have to feel like school. The idea is simply to keep the wheels turning.

We've all had that feeling when you come back from a long break and realise you've forgotten something you definitely knew before the holidays. It happens!

Keeping a little bit of momentum means you're not starting from scratch when school begins again.

Think of the holidays as a reset button, not an off switch. Rest. Have fun. Go out. Sleep in. Spend time with your family and friends. Do absolutely nothing for a while if that's what you need.

But every now and then, give your brain a little workout too. Because learning doesn't have to mean sitting down for three hours surrounded by textbooks.

Sometimes, 30 minutes is enough to remind yourself, "Yep, I still remember this".

So enjoy your holidays. You've earned them and when you do a little bit of work along the way, don't think of it as taking away from your holiday.

Think of it as doing something kind for the version of yourself who has to walk back into that classroom on the first day of next term.

Rest now. Keep learning. Come back ready!
