Trials are finally over! The big, looming pressure that has been creeping over has finally been lifted and a little bit of freedom returns. Balancing enjoying the celebrations of the final term of school and preparation for final HSC exams can be difficult, but, by using this time wisely, you can make the most of this final stretch. Taking a small break after trials can provide a reset and allow for relaxation from exam stress, In this time, it is important to do the tings that you enjoy most. Spend time with friends, family, get out of the library and spend time doing your favourite activities, doomscroll without guilt and finally binge the last season of that TV show. This helps you come back to study refreshed and with a new wave of motivation to push you before HSC. However, it can be difficult to push yourself out of this week of relaxation and freedom. To help with this transition back to study, it is important to slowly get back into a study routine. I would recommend:
- Create a to do list
-Write down areas to focus on for the next term based on exam feedback
-Update and finalise study notes and essay plans
- Set out short study blocks (25min on/5min off or 50min on/10min off)
-Get feedback from teachers on how to improve for HSC
-Set up a timetable on how much you need to study
- Refresh and update your goals in preparation for the HSC, figure out what subjects need more/less focus
By doing this, you can get back into the rhythm of studying to prepare for your HSC exams. Always allow yourself to enjoy the final celebrations of year 12 and balance this with study, some of these memories will be the highlight of school
