Observation

During this session, Kaelyn worked with her Year 7 Mathematics student on angle relationships and the different rules used when working with parallel lines.

The lesson focused on:

* Corresponding angles
* Alternate angles
* Co-Interior angles
* Vertically opposite angles

Kaelyn went through each type of angle with the student and used diagrams to help him recognise the different relationships. She encouraged her student to look carefully at where the angles were positioned rather than just trying to remember the rules.

Her student worked through a range of questions during the session and was given support when they were unsure which angle rule to use. Kaelyn also encouraged them to explain how they knew which rule applied, helping them become more confident with their reasoning.

The student stayed engaged throughout the lesson and improved as they worked through more examples. By the end of the session, they were becoming more comfortable identifying the different types of angles and applying the correct rules to solve questions.

Kaelyn also encouraged the student to check their answers and think about whether their solutions made sense. This helped develop greater independence and encouraged them to approach unfamiliar questions with a more structured and confident mindset.

Overall, it was a productive session, with Kaelyn providing clear explanations and plenty of opportunities for the student to practise and build confidence with angles.
