Observation

- During my observation, I noticed Eleni was very good at providing reassurance and encouragement throughout the lesson. She regularly praised the students for her efforts through stickers, which helped her confidence and encouraged her to keep trying even when she found questions difficult
- Eleni focused on practising timetables with the student, helping her strengthen her multiplication skills. She worked through different multiples and encouraged the student to think about the answers rather than immediately providing them.
- Throughout the whole lesson, Eleni remained actively involved in the students learning. She consistently checked on her progress and made sure the studen was following along and understanding the questions before moving on to the next activity
- When the student became stuck on a question, Eleni was patient and supportive. Rather than simply giving her the answer she provided guidance and broke the question down into smaller, more manageable steps. This allowed the student to understand the process and work towards finding the answer herself
- One thing I learnt from observing Eleni was the importance of being patient and providing consistent reassurance. I also recognised how useful it can be to demonstrate different ways of explaining how to work out an answer.
