With the HSC approaching extremely quickly students stress levels can often become unmanageable but this is the time to maintain relaxed and clear minded. The HSC is a stressful time for everyone but making sure that you give yourself grace and remain kind to yourself as well as checking in on how your feel both emotionally and physically will allow you to remain focused on the exams without burning out. The HSC is a marathon not a sprint and the exams span over four whole weeks so not taking care of yourself can severely impact your performance in your exams.
Although it is tempting to sit and study for hours on end to prepare for your exam this is possibly one of the worst things you can do. Taking proper breaks is crucial for success, and scrolling on your phone is not considered a proper break. Go outside, eat nutritious meals, and sleep early. Maintaining balance is essential in this time to prevent burn out and minimising stress levels which in turn will keep your mind clear and focused during the exams.
The HSC is an important exam but it isn't worth sacrificing physical and mental health in preparation for it. Too much studying and not enough balance can disrupt your bodies and mind's ability to recharge itself leaving you feeling exhausted and burnt out. These effects kill productivity and will make it even more challenging to remain on task and study. Remembering that there are many paths to allow for you to achieve your goals is important in minimising stress levels approaching these upcoming exams.
Make sure to allow your family and friends to support you. Many of your family members have probably sat the HSC and understand the level of stress you are experiencing so opening up to them can help you manage during this challenging time. Allowing your friends to support you and supporting your friends is also an excellent way to remain social and connect because everyone is stressed and going through the same thing.
