How to Find Exam Questions

It's no secret that the best way to study is to practice exam style questions over and over and over again! But sometimes it can be very difficult to find practice questions and, once you do, it's also important to make sure that you're approaching them in the most effective way possible.

The best starting place would be to search up past HSC papers and sample questions as these are the closest to the questions that you will get in the actual HSC.

The next best place would be to use the online database, THSC (thsconline.github.io/s/). This is a massive database that has practice papers from tens of different schools for every subject beginning at the year 9 level! There are obviously very limited HSC papers that you can work through, so doing practice trial papers from other schools in previous years gives you more questions than you can practice!

Once you have secured your questions, it is incredibly important to simulate exam stress as much as possible. This means sitting in a quiet room (if possible), not listening to music or talking to other people, and being completely off devices.

If you are attempting a practice paper which has worded questions, the best thing to do is to ask somebody else to mark your work, or (if that's not available) to put the paper aside for a day and only mark it the following day with fresh eyes and the marking criteria next to you!

I also personally organised to meet up with friends and do the same practice paper together at the same time so that I could simulate the exam environment to the maximum!

Of course, studying is highly personal and each person has their preferences, but it is definitely worth giving this a shot! Good luck with all of your exams :)s
