The HSC is an uncertain and stressful time for many students. These exams can be extremely demanding which is why knowing the best study methods and preparation techniques can be extremely helpful. Creating a study schedule can be extremely beneficial to help with time management, minimise procrastination and increase productivity when studying. Having a plan for what to study can also help with staying organised and on top of exams. Staying organised can be extremely helpful and will allow you to stay on track.
For actual study practice exams are key in allowing you to get the most out of your study session. Reading over notes is a passive way of leaning but practice exams are forcing you to actively remember the content. Completely a practice exam under timed conditions without notes will allow you to fully understand what you need to revise as well as how well you work in timed conditions. Hopefully at this point you understand and have learnt all of the content that will be assessed and just need to revise the topics that you are not as confident in.
Studying with friends is another great method as it allows you to maintain balance by remaining social whilst also staying productive. Teaching your friends is another way to revise and also can determine your weak points as explaining something out loud will show if you truely understand it. Your friends can also help explain stuff to you which can allow for even more revision and can even help correct any mistakes that you have made.
Finally, breaking down your study blocks is one of the best things you can do. Studying for hours on end is inefficient and often draining for students. Separating your studying to a few hours a day can help immensely in managing stress and not overwhelming your mind with information.
